Hope Theatre to Present Christopher Chen’s “Passage”
The 鶹Ƶ Department of Theatre will present Christopher Chen’s “Passage” on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15, and Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 20-22, at 7:30 p.m., along with free matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15-16, and Sunday, Feb. 23.

The third annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Leadership Summit was held on Monday, Jan. 20. The summit explored the theme “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365.”

鶹Ƶ's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Lecture,was presented on Wednesday, Jan. 15 organized by the college’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion. The speaker was John M. Williams, who is president and CEO of Akron Urban League.
Fall 2024 Dean's List Announced
The Registrar’s Office is pleased to announce Dean’s List recipients for the fall semester. The Dean’s List is awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students who have received grades for all courses in a given semester (no incompletes) and have a semester GPA of 3.50 or above. 鶹Ƶ Registrar’s Office considers this a significant achievement.
Actors From The London Stage to Present “Hamlet” on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1
The British acting company, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS), will present William Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, “Hamlet” at 鶹Ƶ on Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland as part of the Great Performance Series.

Hope Junior Jennifer Kasunick Dies in Pedestrian-Train Accident
The 鶹Ƶ family is mourning the death of junior Jennifer Kasunick of Bay Village, Ohio, who died on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, of injuries sustained when she was struck by a train.
Now in its 11th year, 鶹Ƶ’s Big Read Lakeshore, an annual month-long community-wide reading program, continues to foster a culture where reading matters in West Michigan’s Ottawa, Muskegon, and Allegan counties.
Annual Provost’s Recognition Event Honors Faculty and Staff

The third annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Leadership Summit at 鶹Ƶ will explore the theme “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365” through multiple sessions on Monday, Jan. 20, at the college’s Haworth Hotel.
鶹Ƶ Screening the film “T-Rex” on National Day of Racial Healing
This year’s National Day of Racial Healing at 鶹Ƶ will feature “T-Rex,” a documentary film about Claressa “T-Rex” Shields from Flint, who at age 17 became the first woman in history to win the gold medal in the 2012 Olympic boxing, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre.
John M. Williams, President and CEO of the Akron Urban League, to Present the Annual Civil Rights Lecture at 鶹Ƶ on Jan. 15
This year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Lecture at 鶹Ƶ will feature a speaker best described as a servant leader who uses education and advocacy to ameliorate social inequity. John M. Williams, who is president and CEO of Akron Urban League, will feature the theme “A Woke Messiah: Jesus Died to Defend Democracy, Demand Diversity and Defeat Poverty” on Wednesday, Jan 15, at 6 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
De Pree Gallery to Feature “Spaces We Inhabit” Jan. 9 – Feb. 12
With winter’s muted tones settled over Michigan, “Spaces We Inhabit” will bring warmth and color to 鶹Ƶ’s De Pree Art Gallery when the exhibition opens on Thursday, Jan. 9, transforming the space into a dialogue between the season’s quiet stillness and the lively interlaced forms of Mexican artist Laura Villarreal. The exhibition will continue through Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Knickerbocker Theatre to Host Four Humphrey Bogart Films Beginning Jan. 13
The 鶹Ƶ Knickerbocker Theatre will feature four Humphrey Bogart films on consecutive Mondays as part of its Classic Film Series. Focusing on his films from the 1940s, the series will feature “The Maltese Falcon” on Jan. 13, “Casablanca” on Jan. 20, “To Have and Have Not” on Jan. 27 and “The Big Sleep” on Feb. 3. All films are at 7 p.m.
Kruizenga Art Museum Will Open 10th Anniversary Year with Two Exhibitions Beginning Jan. 14
The 鶹Ƶ Kruizenga Art Museum will open its 10th anniversary year with two new art exhibitions beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 14: “Saints and Syncretism in Global Christian Art,” and “Salvador Dali: Memories of Surrealism.”
StrikeTime Dance Theatre to Present Performances for Children on Jan. 10-11
The 鶹Ƶ dance affiliate StrikeTime Dance Theatre will present a live dance event for children, “World Art Dancing Gallery,” on Friday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.
